INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
' In accordance with a request from Ripon Farm Service {RFS},Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
(AGE) has prepared this report for 22871 South Highway 99, Ripon, California This report
' documents quarterly monitoring and sampling activities performed at the site in August 1996 The
scope of work was to monitor petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water at the site The
location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map Structures and
monitoring well locations on the site are depicted in Figure 2 - Site Plan
' Monitoring and sampling activities were conducted in accordance with both the San Joaquin County
Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and 'the Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of
' underground storage tank (UST) sites
Background informatton, including details of previous site assessment work, has been presented in
previous Quarterly Reports dated 20 June 1996 prepared by AGE
' 20 PROCEDURES
2 1 MONITORING WELL DEPTH MEASUREMENTS AND PURGE PROCEDURES
On 20 August 1996, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water to
' wells MW-1 through MW-5 The relative ground water elevation in each well and the hydraulic
gradient were calculated from these data (Table 1)
After depth measurements, each monitoring well was purged of approximately 10 gallons of water
(a minimum of three well volumes)using a pre-cleaned,two-stage,submersible pump Temperature,
pH, and conductivity were measured at approximately one-gallon intervals using an TCM Water
Analyzer Model No 52200 Purge water stabilization data and field data sheets are included in
Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon drums
1 '
22 GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
' Following purging, water samples were collected from each well using new, clean, disposable plastic
bailers The samples were transferred into 40-m1 EPA vials and 1-liter amber bottles Samples were
1
