Highway 99, Stockton, CA
Authority to Construct Permit No.:N=6574-1-0
Dear Mr. Busenbark:
We are writing to provide you with the analytical results of our initial source testing along with emission
rate calculations for VOCs (as total petroleum hydrocarbons-gasoline [TPHg]), MTBE and benzene.
Influent and effluent samples were collected on August 8, 2005 and submitted to Air Toxics Ltd. for
analysis of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes
and methyl-tert-butyl-ether(MTBE)by EPA Method TO-3. The lab report is enclosed: Pursuant to your
verbal authorization, the system continued to operate based upon PID readings that indicated >99%
destruction efficiency.
The combustion chamber was operating at a recorded temperature range of 1443-1473 °F. The analytical
results indicate an abatement efficiency of 99.9% TPHg. At a unit flow rate of 380 CFM and the
measured effluent concentrations the emissions rates for the contaminants of concern would be as
follows*:
TPHg: 0.12 lbs/day
MTBE: 1.2 E-4 lbs/day
Benzene: 1.3 E-2 lbs/day
If you have any questions or comments please contact us at your earliest convenience.
Respectfully,
Ground Zero Analysis, Inc.
John P.
