Hwy. 99
Stockton CA 95212
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJC/EHD) has reviewed Monitoring Well
Installation and Soil Investigation Report(Report) dated November 28, 2007, submitted on your behalf
by Ground Zero Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero)and has the following comments.
The Report documents the installation of two confirmation soil borings and three groundwater
monitoring wells. The confirmation borings were advanced in the area of the former underground
storage tanks (UST)to evaluate the effectiveness of the soil vapor extraction (SVE) remediation that
was conducted at the site. The monitoring wells were installed to define the lateral extent of the
groundwater contamination in the deeper water bearing zones, and to define the vertical extent of the
contamination.
Based on the analytical results reported from soil and groundwater samples collected during the
investigation, Ground Zero recommends the following.-
1.
ollowing:1. Performance of a rebound test of the SVE system;
2. If results of the rebound test indicate contaminants have been effectively removed from the
vadose zone soil, options to enhance remediation of the onsite groundwater contamination
should be evaluated, and
3. Including the new groundwater monitoring wells in the quarterly groundwater monitoring and
sampling regimen for a period of one year; if results are consistently non-detect they should
be sampled annually.
SJCIEHD agrees with these recommendations. Please schedule the SVE rebound test.
