(Ground Zero) is submitting this permit application and associated
fee for the installation of three (3) additional groundwater monitoring wells and the advancement of
one confirmation soil boring at the referenced site.
The wells and the boring will be drilled, installed and sampled pursuant to the Workplan for
Additional Subsurface Investigation dated May 11, 2007, which was approved in your letter dated
that you
July 3, 2007. In the aforementioned letter it states at y approve the "confirmation boring
located near VW2 but request that it be placed near MW1 and SB2." Can you please clarify? We
proposed the boring near VW2 because soil samples previously
collected from the installation of
VW2 were the most highly contaminated of those collected in the area of the former underground
g y
storage tanks (iJSTs). Note that the cumulative table of soil data included with the workplan
inadvertently did not contain data from VW2. Please replace the table with the enclosed updated
version. Your July 2007 letter also requests that the screened intervals on the new wells be reduced
from the proposed 20 feet to 10-15 feet, which we accept. Figure 2 shows the approximate location
of the proposed soil boring and Figure 3 shows the approximate location of the proposed
groundwater monitoring wells. A check in the amount of $374 is enclosed to cover the permit
i
application fee.
In your letter you requested the calculation we used to establish the mass of dissolved MTBE in
shallow groundwater at the site. With reference to Figure 6 in the April 27, 2007, Quarterly
f
G:\GROUNDZEITULEBLTRG\permitcvT.doc
