As we discussed, our
contractor was unable to complete the final plumbing connections for extraction well EW2. Ground Zero E
personnel did complete the connections on November 24, 2004, however, and well EW2 was placed into
service to extract and treat groundwater downgradient of the former USTs. Ground Zero will incorporate
data from the new extraction well into status reports submitted to San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department(SJC/EHD)and the Regional Board.
We also briefly discussed SJC/EHD's preliminary review of workplans submitted by Ground Zero that
outlined proposed vapor extraction (VE Workplan) and a limited groundwater pump test (PT Workplan)
at the site. You indicated that the VE Workplan is acceptable and that SJC/EHD would be sending out an
approval letter very soon. You also indicated, however, that SJC/EHD and the Regional Board will
request modifications to the PT Workplan before it can be approved. We look forward to your comments
on the PT Workplan and will work with you to develop an appropriate scope of work.
Please let me know if there are any other outstanding issues that need to be addressed for this site.
-Sincerely,
Ground Zero Analysis,Inc.
Vy "
John P.Lane
CA Registered Geologist 6795
JPL
wong I 12904.doc
