Highway 99, Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Barton:
I am writing to provide the additional information requested in your letter dated October 6, 2003
regarding the Application/Report of Waste Discharge (ROWD) for Waste Discharge
Requirements (WDRs) for the referenced facility. This submittal was prepared by Ground Zero
Analysis, Inc. (Ground Zero) at the request of Tuleburg Warehouse in order to implement
interim groundwater remediation as required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(EHD).
The following additional information is provided:
1. An estimate of breakthrough time for the Granular Activated Carbon GAC units used for
treatment of upundwater. Ground Zero contacted several contractors regarding breakthrough
estimates. Carbon usage has been estimated at between-37 and 63 pounds per day, depending
upon the type of carbon used. At this rate the primary carbon vessel would initially require
change out every 31-54 days, based upon the most recent analytical results from well MW 1.
Carbon usage estimates are attached.
2. The com Tete list of re uired laboratory analyses for influent and effluent samples. Treatment
system influent and effluent samples will be collected at the frequency and for the constituents
listed in Attachment A and the Monitoring and Reporting Program for Order No. R5-2003-
0044, General Order for Land Disposal of Groundwater and Surface Water from Cleanup of
Petroleum Fuel Pollution(Attached). These analyses include
a. Volatile organic constituents(EPA Method 8021B or 8260B);
b. Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel(EPA Method 8015B);
c. Lead, soluble lead or tetraethyl lead(Graphite Furnace AA or equivalent);
G:1G ROUNOZECPU LESURGIReportshvorkpl an10&Mcvr.doc
