GROUND ZERO ANALYSIS, INC.
1714 Main Street
Fscalon, California 95320-1927
Telephone: (209)838-9888
Facsimile: (209)838-9883
June 24, 2005
Mr. Jeffrey Wong
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Work Plan to Evaluate Potential Effect of Water
Supply Well on Dissolved Contaminant Plume
Speedy Mart, 8200 N. Highway 99, Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Wong:
This work plan is submitted to present a proposed scope of work to evaluate the potential effect
of pumping from the Site's private domestic well (PDW) on the dissolved contaminant plume at
the subject site. The work plan was prepared in response the May 18, 2005 letter from San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD). Figure 1 shows the physical location
of the site. Figure 2 presents a site plan showing the locations of site monitoring wells and the
water supply well. The water supply well is screened from approximately 335 to 395 feet below
ground surface (bgs).
The objective of the work plan is to conduct a qualitative assessment of the potential effect of
pumping from the PDW on the dissolved contaminant plume while minimizing the potential of
pulling down the contaminants.
SCOPE OF WORK
In order to evaluate whether the PDW is in hydraulic communication with the C Zone aquifer,
and thus could exert an influence on the plume, Ground Zero proposes to conduct a limited pump
test on the PDW. Ground Zero will pump groundwater from the PDW and measure the water
level response in nearby monitoring wells MW7 (A Zone, screened from 52 to 72 feet bgs),
MW14B B Zone screened from 109 to—T24 feet bgs), and MW13C (C Zone, screened from 202
to 222 feet bgs).
I
Since no data is available regarding the performance of the facility well, Ground Zero used the
G:\GROUNDZE\TULEBURG\Rcpons\wotkplan\WPpumptest_rcv2.doe
i'
I
