>Supplemental Information
Report Of Waste Discharge
8200 N. Highway 99,Stockton, CA
conductivity of the water stabilized, as measured by portable meters calibrated to a standard buffer and
conductivity standard. The water level will be allowed to recover to at least 80 percent of the initial
water level prior to sampling. Purged groundwater will be contained in DOT-approved, polyethylene,
55-gallon drums pending disposal.
A sample of the formation water will then be collected from the surface of the water in each of the
wells with a dedicated disposable bailer and slowly transferred using a bottom-emptying device to
laboratory-cleaned sample containers.
Equipment Calibration
• Water Level Measurements in Wells: (1) Steel surveyors tape. Calibration:
manufacturer supplied temperature correction will be applied as applicable for field
conditions. (2) Electronic well sounders. Calibration: Once by manufacturer, then
periodic check against steel surveyor's tape.
• Organic Vapors-Photoionization detector. Calibration: Daily logged field calibration
using isobutylene standard per manufacturer instructions.
• Groundwater pH Measurements-Digital pH meter. Calibration: standard pH solutions
of 4, 7, and 10 utilized for daily logged field calibration and/or according to
manufacturer instructions.
• Electrical Conductivity-Electrical conductivity meter. Calibration: factory-calibrated
initially and periodically calibrated against laboratory prepared standard calibration
solution.
• Water Temperature-Mercury or digital thermometers. Calibration: one-time factory-
calibrated.
Laboratory Analysis
Groundwater samples will be analyzed by a State-certified laboratory for TPHg by EPA method
801513, BTEX by EPA method 8021B, and for oxygenated gasoline additives, including MTBE,
EDB, and 1,2-DCA, by EPA method 8260B.
Laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality ontrol
Samples will be submitted to a State-certified laboratory for chemical analysis. Established QA/QC
procedures for analytical operations include sample custody procedures, standards of analytical
accuracy, analysis of matrix spikes and method data, and maintenance of control charts to monitor
analytical performance. Organic chemical analyses will be performed in conformance with standard
procedures established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in "Guidelines
Establishing Test Procedures for the Analysis of Pollutants Under the Clean Water Act" (40 CFR Part
GIGROUNDMTULEBIJRGIReportslworkpIan\W DRSupplemental,doe
