INTERNATIONAL
TECHNOLOGY
CORPORATION
y Gettler-Ryan
1992 June 14, 1988
National Avenue
r
Hayward, CA 94545
ATTN: Jerry Mitchell
` Following are the results of analyses on the samples described
below.
Project: G-R #9760/WCC #8820011A, Chevron,
Highway 99 & Morada, Stockton
Lab Numbers: S8-05-248-01 thru S8-05-248--13
Number of Samples: 13
Sample Type: Soil
Date Received: 5/25/88
Analyses Requested: Low Boiling Hydrocarbons,
High Boiling Hydrocarbons,
Volatile Halocarbons
The method of analysis for low boiling hydrocarbons is taken
from EPA Methods 8015, 8020 and 5030. The sample is examined using
the purge and trap technique. Final detection is by gas chromatography
using a flame ionization detector as well, as a photoionization detector.
The result for total low boiling hydrocarbons is calculated
as gasoline and includes benzene, toluene, ethyl benzerie and xylenes.
The method of analysis for high boiling hydrocarbons in soil ,
involves extracting the sample with acetone. The mixture is
partitioned with hexane and the resulting extract is examined by
k gas chromatography using a flame ionization detector.
The method of analysis for volatile halocarbons in soil is
taken from E.P.A. Methods 8410 and 5030. The sample is examined
using the purge and trap technique. Final detection is by gas
chromatography using an electrolytic conductivity detector.
Fred Rouse
FR/gg /
7 Pages Following - Tables of Results
xSanta Clara Valley Laboratory
2055 Junction Avenue• San Jose, CaWornia 95131 • 408.943-1540
IT Corporatlon Is a wholly owned subsidiary of Internationd Technology Corpoiallon
