HWY 99; Stockton 01935
Please be advised that this office has reviewed documents
submitted for the above referenced site. our comments are as
follows:
Review of Site Report Submitted September _2. 1988:
1. Shallow soil borings constructed were not converted into
monitoring wells, although indications in boring logs
suggested "dampness"at approximately 44 ft. on borings C-A.
2. The fuel tanks previously removed from this facility stored._
gasoline, fuel oil, and waste oil. The bottom soil sample
at 45 feet from soil boring C-A was not submitted for
analysis of high boiling point hydrocarbons. The detection
limits throughout the analytical sampling were conducted in
ten parts per million, which is unacceptable for "zero-line"
definition.
3 . A 1985 Brown and Coldwell report is used within the text of
Woodward Clyde's report. The significance of this reference
is not clearly related to the field study.
4. The soil borings were backfilled with cuttings and surface
seal grouted. No native soil shall be reintroduced in
subsurface investigative borings. These borings shall be
redrilled and properly grouted, under separate permit.
Administration Clinical Services Environmental Health Public Health Nursing
488-3400 488-3830 468-3420 468-3860
Air Pollution Community Services laboratory WIC
468-3470 458-3820 468-3460 468-3280
