Upon San Joaquin Local Health District's review of the workplan, the Health <br /> District requested that the proposed locations of the monitoring wells be <br /> adjusted at the subject property, and that other minor issues be addressed prior <br /> to the commencement of Dames & Moore's field exploration. Pursuant to the <br /> comments generated from the San Joaquin Local Health District review, addenda <br /> were prepared by Dames & Moore which addressed those specific issues. Copies of <br /> those addenda have been included in Appendix C of this report. <br /> Upon approval of the workplan by the San Joaquin Local Health District, the <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board, and Chevron U.S.A. , necessary permits were <br /> I <br /> obtained and field exploration commenced at the subject property. The following <br /> report summarizes the details of our findings. <br /> 3.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> The purpose and scope of the investigation was outlined in Dames & Moore's <br /> proposal to Chevron dated March 12, 1989. The purpose of the investigation was <br /> to install three ground rater monitoring wells at the subject property in order <br /> to obtain ground .water samples for chemical analysis. Additionally, selected <br /> soil samples obtained from the soil borings advanced to install the monitoring <br /> were analyzed to detect the presence and concentration of petroleum hydrocarbons. <br /> The investigation was accomplished by and limited to exploratory soil boring and <br /> soil sampling; installation of ground water monitoring wells; development and <br /> sampling of ground water monitoring <br /> wells; and chemical analysis of soil and <br /> ground water samples obtained from the subject property. The data obtained from <br /> the field and laboratory investigation, coupled with review of known previous <br /> site investigations and readily available published data regarding the geologic <br /> DAMES &.
