Upon San Joaquin Local Health District's review of the workplan, the Health District requested that the proposed locations of the monitoring wells be adjusted at the subject property, and that other minor issues be addressed prior to the commencement of Dames & Moore's field exploration. Pursuant to the comments generated from the San Joaquin Local Health District review, addenda were prepared by Dames & Moore which addressed those specific issues. Copies of those addenda have been included in Appendix C of this report. Upon approval of the workplan by the San Joaquin Local Health District, the Regional Water Quality Control Board, and Chevron U.S.A. , necessary permits were I obtained and field exploration commenced at the subject property. The following report summarizes the details of our findings. 3.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF SERVICES The purpose and scope of the investigation was outlined in Dames & Moore's proposal to Chevron dated March 12, 1989. The purpose of the investigation was to install three ground rater monitoring wells at the subject property in order to obtain ground .water samples for chemical analysis. Additionally, selected soil samples obtained from the soil borings advanced to install the monitoring were analyzed to detect the presence and concentration of petroleum hydrocarbons. The investigation was accomplished by and limited to exploratory soil boring and soil sampling; installation of ground water monitoring wells; development and sampling of ground water monitoring wells; and chemical analysis of soil and ground water samples obtained from the subject property.
