1 <br />' FINAL REMEDIAL REPORT <br /> RECOMMENDATION FOR CLOSURE <br />' CHEVRON STATION NO 9-6155 <br /> 9474 NORTH HIGHWAY 99 <br />' STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> January 7, 1992 <br /> 1 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report summarizes the environmental assessment and remediation work completed at <br /> ' the former Chevron Station No 9-6155 located at 9474 North Highway 99, in Stockton, California <br /> (Figure 1) The report was compiled to present a comprehensive overview of the data collected to <br /> ' date to the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) and the California Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region (CRWQCB-CVR) with the goal to bring the project to a <br /> conclusion <br /> 20 BACKGROUND <br /> 1 <br /> The site is located near the intersection of U S Highway 99 East Frontage Road and <br /> ' Morado Lane in Stockton, California A mobile-home park borders the site on the north, east, and <br /> south <br /> Three 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks, which stored regular, unleaded and <br /> ' supreme unleaded gasoline, and two 1,000-gallon tanks in separate pits which stored fuel oil and <br /> used oil, were removed in June 1986 when the service station was demolished <br /> ' 3 0 HISTORY OF ENVIRONMENTAL WORK <br /> ' 3 1 SOIL BORINGS, MAY 1988 <br /> Environmental assessment of the subsurface materials at the site began in May 19, 1988, <br /> when Woodward-Clyde Consultants (WCC) drilled four soil borings (C-A, C-B, C-C, and C-D) at the <br /> locations shown on Figure 2 The borings, drilled to 45 feet below ground surface (BGS), did not <br /> ' encounter groundwater The soils encountered in the borings were dominantly silts and clays, with <br /> a sand bed at approximately 8-12 feet BGS •i <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> ' HWY96FA RPT TECHNOLOGY INC <br />
