An excavator will be used to removed approximately SO cubic yards of impacted soil from
the western portion of the excavation. The soil will be stockpiled on-site with existing
excavated soil.
Excavated soil will be screened using a photo-ionization detector(PID). After the impacted
soil has been removed, one or two soil samples will be collected from the bottom of the
excavation. The samples will be transported to a state-certified laboratory and analyzed for
TPH as diesel.
If the soil samples indicate that all impacted-soil has been removed from the floor of the
excavation (i.e. a vertical extent of impacted soil has been determined), the excavation will
be backfilled with clean soil and/or pea gravel.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office.
Sincerely,
GEOLOGICAL AUDIT SERVICES, INC.
Bob Marty
Project Manager
Enclosure
c: Mr. Les Calkins
C_I psw Audi[S.Mv I— il
SC-9411-10i74MCALMM EXC SS 2
