INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr. Les Calkins, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has <br /> prepared the enclosed Site Investigation Work Plan for 19601 North Highway 99 in Acampo, <br /> California. The work plan includes the advancement of four soil probings and collection of soil <br /> samples from stockpiled and backfilled soil. The location of the site is 'illustrated on Figure 1 - <br /> Location Hqj). A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 - lie Plat:. <br /> This Work Plan is prepared in accordance with the. San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Fater Quality Control <br /> Board guidelines for investigation of underground storage tank: (UST) sites. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 2.1. SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site area is located in an agricultural area of lox topographic relief south of Acampo, California, <br /> near the intersection of Highway 99 and`Voodbridge Road In 1957, three underground storage tanks <br /> (USTs) were installed at the site: two 10,000-gallon diesel USTs and a 550-,Tallon gasoline UST. <br /> 2.2. UIv-DERGROU`ND STORAGE "TANK REMOVAL <br /> On 20 December 1991, the three USTs were removed from the site. Underground Tank <br /> Closure/Abandonment Inspection reports on file with the PHS-EHD indicate that all tanks and piping <br /> were in poor conditions upon removal. <br /> Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as diesel (TPI-1-d) and volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, <br /> ethyl benzene and xylenes: BTE&X) were detected in samples collected from the excavated soil at <br /> concentrations up to 1,460 rng/kg (millit==rams per kilogram or parts per million: ppm). TPH-d and <br /> xylenes were detected in the grab water sample collected from the excavation at concentrations of <br /> 10,300 and 0.63 ppm, respectively, <br /> 2.4. rNITIAL SITE ASSESSMTNT <br /> On 06 July 1992, four soil borings were advanced at the site to a depth of 75 feet belo%v surface grade <br />
