1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Mr. Les Calkins has retained Park Environmental Corporation (Park) to prepare this work <br /> plan to address the environmental issues at the facility located at 19825 North Highway 99 in <br /> Acampo, California (Figure 1). This work plan addresses the Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon <br /> (TPH) diesel soil contamination that was identified when the underground diesel fuel tanks <br /> were removed from the facility. Park has been retained to assist Mr. Calkins in the <br /> implementation of this work plan. <br /> 1.1 Purposes of Investigation <br /> The purposes of the work plan are to present a program for the over excavation of the <br /> existing pit to remove residual diesel impacted soils left in place. At the time of the tank <br /> removal; to collect and analyze soil samples to document that any diesel concentrations being <br /> left in the excavated area are at acceptable concentrations; to sample the excavated soils to <br /> evaluate disposition options; and to document our findings. <br /> 1.2 Proposed and Ongoing Scope of Work <br /> • The existing Site Safety Plan will be utilized during this additional excavation and <br /> .� sampling; <br /> • Over excavate pit sidewalls and bottom to remove residual TPH soil in excess of 100 <br /> mg/kg TPH as diesel, as allowable, while protecting the integrity of utilities and <br /> structures in the vicinity of the pit excavation; <br /> • Resample pit walls and bottom to confirm completion of remediation; <br /> • Sample stockpiled soils; <br /> • Analyze soil samples for TPH as diesel and gasoline and BTEX; <br /> • Assist client with appropriate disposition of soils; and <br /> 0 Document Findings; <br /> 1.3 Schedule <br /> Park is prepared to commence this work within two weeks after receipt of agency work plan <br /> approval and receipt of written authorization to proceed from our client. <br /> 5Qo3JI 1 <br />
