i <br /> REMEDIAL ALTERNATIVES <br /> A. Aerate the existing stockpile an site by spreading to a <br /> depth of 1 foot and turning once a week for 6 weeks or until <br /> October 15th 1992. Then take the aerated material and layer <br /> and compact back into the existing tank pit . Then an area no <br /> less than 40 feet in radius from the center of the pit would <br /> then be paved and sealed to prevent penetration by rainfall <br /> or surface water build up on the lot surface. The remaining <br /> Contamination would their be allowed to biodegrade. <br /> A. I . Treat as in Alternative A but bioremediate for 4 weeks <br /> rather than aerate. Then backfill the spoils into the pit <br /> and pave area as A. above. The remaining contamination would <br /> then biodegrade . <br /> B. Overexcavate the existing tank pit 3 to 5 feet on the floor , <br /> south and west walls. Take this material and combine with <br /> existing spoils pile and treat as A. or A: 1 . Excavating the <br /> north and east wall would involve removal of cyclone fencing <br /> waterline, natural gas lines* existing pavement and a <br /> storage building . Then pave areas as A: above and allow <br /> biodegradation on remaining contamination. <br /> 8. 1 . Excavate ail sides and bottom at the pit 3 to 5 feet and <br /> treat on site as A or A. I . above. Pave areas as in A. and <br /> allow remaining contamination to biodegrade. <br /> ' C. Treat spoils on site as A or A. 1 above and backfill and <br /> compact existing pit with imported 'clean fill . Haut treated <br /> spoils to Class II non hazardous waste disposal facility and <br /> pave and seal area as A. above. <br /> Q. Excavate pit as on B. or B. I . above and backfill pit with <br /> clean fill . Dispose of all spoils at a Class II treatment <br /> ' unit . Pave entire area as above. <br /> ' RECOMMENDAf I Ems <br /> Based an the site investigation *results the recommendation <br /> is made to complete the site treatment as outlined in alternative <br /> S. This alternative best fits the alternative evaluation <br /> criterion shown an Table 3. The site does not qualify for the <br /> risk analysis 1 cleanup worksheet as outlined in the LUFT manual , <br /> 3 <br /> T & T EARTH SERVICES <br />
