File No. NSS-9032-01
June 30, 1992
The percolation test results obtained are summarized below:
Test Depth Percolation Rate
Hole (feet) Last Timed Interval (minute/inch) Comments
1 3 240 Clayey silt with sand
2 3 60 Clayey silt with sand
3 22 30 Clayey silt with sand
For approximate locations of the test pit and the percolation tests please see the Tentative Map
in Appendix A of this report.
The percolation test results used for design of septic leach fields are based on the "last timed
interval" column. The highest percolation rate allowed for leach line fields (without alternate
septic system design by a registered engineer) is 60 minute/inch. The maximum percolation
rate for seepage pits is 30 minutes inch.
Conclusions
Based on a review of past records of septic system permits, the soil profile, and the results of
the percolation tests, it is our opinion that a deep seepage pit system should be recommended for
this site. Since the groundwater table exists at a depth greater than 50 feet at the site, a
properly sized and designed septic system should not adversely affect the quality of groundwater
in this area.
Limitations
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding the subject site
and on the site conditions as they existed at the time we excavated the test pit and performed the
percolation tests. It is assumed that the percolation test results obtained are representative of
the subsurface conditions in the general area.
This report was performed upon your request for our services and in accordance with currently
accepted geotechnical engineering practice.
