r - .Ahy Cal Tech-T&T.pdf [ Page 1 of 2
v U
Mike Infurna [EH]
From: Mike Infurna [EH]
Sent: Friday, July 18, 2008 3:59 PM
i4 To: 'acolavita@advgeoenv.com'
Cc: 'rmarty@advgeoenv.com'
Subject: RE: TBT
I'll look at this, but typically we like/request that prior to system changes on
SVE/thermo to GAC for instance, you allow this down time to act as a
'pulse'.....either resample again to see if there is a substantial rebound and how long
it lasts.
If the data suggests that thermo-destruction is no longer cost-effective, then by all
means adjust to a more cost-effective means.
trust me, changing out GAC can be just as costly/problematic.
From: Ally Colavita [mailto:acolavita@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Friday, July 18, 2008 3:44 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: rmarty@advgeoenv.com; 'Art Deicke'
Subject: T&T
Hi Mike—
Regarding T&T Trucking,
The latest vapor results from last Friday the 11th (attached) were non-detect. The Brown and
Caldwell-prepared and EHD-approved RAP states on Table 4-1 on page 4-8 of the RAP. the
SVE unit would be switched to a GAC system when concentrations dropped below 200 ppm.
r This has been achieved, so we'd like to do that.
Coincidentally and problematically, the excessive cost of propane (approximately $7500/month)
has caused the client a bit of grief and we have not refilled the propane tank. The SVE unit shut
off(ran out of fuel) late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
We are now in the process of making the switch to a carbon filter-based remedial system as per
the RAP. There are a few hoops to jump through including modifying the air permit.
So, with your concurrence of our interpretation of the RAP, we will proceed.
Thanks Mike. Have a great weekend, and I hope to see you soon,
Ally Colavita
t W
Staff Scientist
Advancerl GeoEnvirontnental, Inc.
837 Shaw Road, Stockton, CA 95215
Phone: (209) 467-1006
Fax: (209) 467-1118
7/18/2008
i
