Hwy 99
Manteca, CA 95336
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD)
has reviewed the "Problem Assessment Report" (PAR) dated June 26, 1992, prepared by
Aegis Environmental, Inc. for the above referenced site.
The groundwater gradient has changed from north-northeast to southwest. in the
"Preliminary Hydrogeologic Assessment Report" dated September 8, 1989, prepared by
Delta Environmental, it was stated that there were 24 wells within a half mile radius of
the site, but exact addresses and site map locations were not given. Aegis has initiated a
complete inventory of these existing wells. This information should be provided and
discussed in your next report.
Testing of the on-site well has not been addressed. This well should be tested
periodically for the same constituents as those tested for in the monitoring wells.
Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d) were detected in the soil when the
underground tanks were removed and has not been analyzed for in groundwater samples.
At a minimum TPH-d should be added to the constituents analyzed for in groundwater
samples colllected from monitoring wells 1-4.
EDC was previously detected in monitoring wells 1-5 at levels above the "State Primary
Maximum Contaminant Level" of .5 parts per billion. EDC has not been analyzed for
since July 22, 1991. Analysis for EDC should continue in monitoring wells 1-5.
The PAR dated June 26, 1992 states that the drill cuttings and purge water from
monitoring well 9 was transported to an appropriate disposal facility. Please provide the
name and location of these facilities in your next report.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Parc Services \0
