n.
. Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring&Remediation Status Report
Moore Petroleum, 14800 W.Frontage Rd.,Manteca,CA
September 25, 1995
Page 3
On July 31, 1995, the vapor extraction rate was 51 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM).
Based on the vapor sample analytical results for this date the system extraction rate was 5.5
pounds per day(lb./day) as gasoline. Benzene was not detected and petroleum constituent
discharge rates were zero. On August 16, 1995, the vapor extraction rate was 48 SUM. Based
on the vapor sample analytical results for this date the system extraction rate was 6.71b./day as
gasoline. Benzene was not detected and petroleum constituent discharge rates were zero. Air
analytical results and chain-of-custody forms are contained in Attachment 3. As of August 16,
1995, the vapor extraction system has extracted approximately 303 lbs. of TPI, as gasoline, and
no detectable amounts of benzene.
System operating data are contained in Table 3. Mass extraction rates to date, based on
Y p g
laboratory analytical results, are contained in Table 4.
Groundwater Remediation System
On January 23, 1995, Emcon started a groundwater treatment system at the subject site. The
groundwater treatment system is pneumatically operated and extracts groundwater from
monitoring wells MW 1, MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4. Once the groundwater arrives in the
remediation compound via 1" diameter PVC piping, it is filtered through two in-line particulate
. filters and then through two in-line, 4001b carbon vessels. Upon discharging from the carbon
vessels, it is reinjected through two reinjection wells, RW-1 and RW-2, located to the west of the
remediation compound(Figure 2).
During this reporting period, water flow through the treatment system has varied from 2.5 gallons
per minute (g.p.m.) on August 16, 1995 to 3.0 g.p.m. on August 30, 1995. Groundwater samples
were collected from the system influent and effluent on July 25 and August 16, 1995 to
demonstrate compliance with Land Discharge Permit Order No. 91-25013.
On July 25, 1995, the groundwater extraction rate was 2.75 g.p.m. Based on water sample
analytical results for this date, the system extraction rate was 4.33E-09 pounds per day(lb./day)
as benzene. TPK as gasoline, was not detected in the groundwater samples_ On August 16,
1995, the groundwater extraction rate was 2.5 g.p.m.. Based on water sample analytical results
for this date, neither benzene nor TPI, as gasoline, were detected in the groundwater samples.
Groundwater analytical results and chain-of-custody forms are contained in Attachment 3. As of
July 31, 1995 the groundwater treatment system has extracted no concentrations of TPH, as
gasoline, and approximately 5.65E-091b. of benzene.
System operating data are contained in Table 5. Mass extraction rates to date, based on
laboratory analytical results, are contained in Table 6.
•
i
