Mr Jerry Moore Project 2520-100 01 <br /> January 3, 1995 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Mi imai impact to soil and groundwater was noted In the samples collected from wells MW-5 <br /> through MW-9 <br /> GROUNDWATER FLOW DIRECTION <br /> Historical and fourth quarter 1994 water level measurements are summarized In Table 1 The <br /> water level measurements collected on November 14, 1994, were used to calculate <br /> groundwater elevations In wells MW-1 through MW-9 Figure 2 is a groundwater contour <br /> map based on the November 1994 groundwater elevations Interpretation of the November <br /> 1994 groundwater elevation data indicates a general southwest direction of groundwater flow <br /> with an approximate gradient of 0 003 foot per foot <br /> ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> Certified analytical reports and chain-of-custody records are located In Attachment B <br /> Historical and fourth quarter 1994 analytical results are summarized in Table 2 <br /> Petroleum hydrocarbons were not detected in the groundwater samples collected from wells <br /> MW-2, MW-5 through MW-7, and MW-9 during the fourth quarter 1994 monitoring event <br /> Concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected In wells MW-1 and MW-4 during the <br /> fourth quarter of 1994 are generally lower than concentrations detected in the third quarter of <br /> 1994 while concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected in well MW-3 during the <br /> tourth quarter of 1994 are generally higher than concentrations detected In the third quarter of <br /> 1994 Low concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were detected In well MW-8 during the <br /> fourth quarter 1994 monitoring event Concentrations of 1,2-dlchloroethane detected in wells <br /> MW-1 through MW-5 ranged from 5 4 to 50 nucrograms per liter (µg/L) Figure 3 shows <br /> c,oncentratlons of benzene detected in groundwater during the November 1994 monitoring <br /> event <br /> ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES <br /> Construction of the soil and groundwater system was initiated on December 5, 1994, and <br /> completed on December 23, 1994 Start-up of the system is scheduled for the week of <br /> January 9, 1994 <br /> MCW\P12\2S20252010W IGS-94\pas 1 <br />
