Second Quarter 1996 Groundwater Monitormg&Remediation Status Report <br /> Moore Petroleum, 14800 W Frontage Rd,Manteca,CA <br /> August 7,1996 <br /> ' Page 2 <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> ' !Groundwater Le els <br /> On May 16, 1996,Apex personnel collected groundwater-level measurements from monitoring <br /> ' wells MW-1 through MW-9 (Figure 2) All groundwater elevations were measured to the nearest <br /> 0 01 foot,referenced to the surveyed top-of-casing elevations and conducted according to the <br /> ' Apex Standard Operating Procedures(SOP)included as Appendix A Liquid-level measurements <br /> collected since April 1992 are summarized in Table 1 Figure 3 is a potentrometrfe surface map of <br /> the shallow water-bearing zone on May 16, 1996 <br /> ' Groundwater-Sampling and Analysis <br /> On May 16, 1996,Apex personnel collected groundwater samples from all nine monitoring wells <br /> (MW-1 through MW-9) and the station's domestic well(DM-1) The samples were submitted, <br /> under chain-of-custody,to Sparger Technology, Inc, of Sacramento, California, a state-certified <br /> analytical laboratory All samples were collected according to the Apex SOP included in <br /> Appendix A The groundwater samples collected on May 16, 1996, from the nine monitoring <br /> wells and the domestic well were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH), as gasoline, <br /> ' benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes(BTEX)by EPA Method 8020/8015 <br /> Groundwater samples collected from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4 and DM-1 were <br /> ' analyzed for TPR as diesel by EPA Method 8015 Modified The groundwater samples collected <br /> from MW-1 through MW-5 were analyzed for 1,2 Dichloroethane(EDC)by EPA Method 601 <br /> -The groundwater sample collected from MW-5 was analyzed for methyl-tert-butyl-ether(MTBE) <br /> by EPA Method 8020 The results of this sampling event are summarized in Table 2 <br /> On April 23, 1996, Apex personnel collected a groundwater sample from the domestic well(DM- <br /> 1)located on site The sample was submitted,under chain-of-custody,to Sparger Technology, <br /> Inc , of Sacramento, California, a state-certified analytical laboratory The sample was collected <br /> accordmg to the Apex SOP included in Appendix A The groundwater sample collected on April <br /> ' 23, 1996 was analyzed for EDC by EPA Method 601 The results of this samphng event are <br /> included in Table 2 The most recent laboratory analytical reports and sham-of-custody forms are <br /> included in Appendix B <br /> 1 <br />
