Fourth Quarter 1995 Groundwater Monitoring&Remediation Status Report
Moore Petroleum, 14800 W Frontage Rd,Manteca,CA
January 19, 1996
Page 3
On September 19, 1995, the vapor extraction rate was 43 standard cubic feet per minute(SCFM)
Based on the vapor sample analytical results for this date the system extraction rate was 3 5 pounds
per day(Ib/day) of TPA as gasoline Benzene was not detected in the influent to the vapor
extraction system On November 27, 1995,the vapor extraction rate was 43 SCFM Based on the
vapor sample analytical results for this date the system extraction rate was 7 01b/day of TPH, as
t gasoline Benzene was not detected m the influent to the vapor extraction system. On December 5,
1995, the vapor extraction rate was 43 SCFM Based on the vapor sample analytical results for
this date the system extraction rate was 5 81b/day of TPH, as gasoline Benzene was not detected
in the influent to the vapor extraction system Air analytical results and cham-of-custody forms are
contained in Attachment 3 As of December 5, 1995, the vapor extraction system has extracted
approximately 2,090 lbs of TPH, as gasoline, and 7 6 lbs of benzene
System operating data are contained in Table 3 Mass extraction rates to date, based on laboratory
analytical results, are contained in Table 4 Example calculations are contained in Attachment 4
Groundwater Remediation System
On January 23, 1995, Emcon started a groundwater treatment system at the subject site The
' groundwater treatment system is pneumatically operated via compressed air supplied from the
RS I unit and extracts groundwater from monitoring wells MW 1, MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4
Once the groundwater arrives in the remediation compound via V diameter PVC piping, it is
filtered through two m-line particulate filters and then through two m-line, 400 lb carbon vessels
Upon discharging from the carbon vessels, it is reinjected through two remjection wells, RW-1 and
' RW-2, located to the west of the remediation compound (Figure 2)
During this reporting period, water flow through the treatment system has ranged from 1 0 gallon
' per minute (g p m.) on November 29 to 3 0 g p in. on November 21, 1995 Groundwater samples
were collected from the system mfluent and effluent on September 26 and November 29, 1995 to
demonstrate compliance with Land Discharge Permit Order No 91-25013 The system was not
' sampled during the month of October or December due to a system malfiwction
On September 26, 1995, the groundwater extraction rate was 1 5 g p m. Based on water sample
' analytical results for this date, concentrations of both TPH, as gasoline, and benzene were below
laboratory detection limits, therefore system extraction rates were zero for this sampling event On
November 29, 1995,the groundwater extraction rate was 10 g p m. Based on water sample
' analytical results for this date, concentrations of both TPR as gasoline, and benzene were below
laboratory detection hunts, therefore system extraction rates were zero for this sampling event
As of November 29, 1995 the groundwater treatment system has extracted approximately 18 lbs.
of TPI, as gasoline, and 0 37 Ibs. of benzene
1
