WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIIREMENTS <br /> TRI VALLEY GROWERS, PLANT NO. 4 <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> 10. This Order shall serve as a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System <br /> permit pursuant to Section 402 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, or <br /> amendments thereto, and shall take effect ten days from the date of hearing <br /> provided the Regional Administrator has no objections. <br /> IT IS HEREBY ORDERE , Tri Valley Growers, Plant No. 4, in order to meet the provisions <br /> contained in Division 7 of the California Water Code and regulations adopted there- <br /> under and the provi ions of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act and regulations <br /> and guidelines adopted thereunder, shall comply with the following: <br /> A. Effluent Limitations, Cooling and Condensate Water <br /> 1. The disch rge of an effluent in excess of the following limits is pro- <br /> hibited: <br /> 30-Day Daily <br /> Constituent Units Average Maximum <br /> Settleabl Matter ml/l 0.1 0.2 <br /> B.O.D. (l) mg/l 10 15 <br /> lbs/day 100 150 <br /> Total Suspended mg/l 30 40 <br /> lbs/day 300 400 <br /> Chlorine Residual mg/l -- 0.1 <br /> (1) 5-day 20 C Biochemical Oxygen Demand <br /> 2. The discharge shall not have a pH less than 6.5 nor greater than 8.5. <br /> 3. The maximum daily discharge shall not exceed 1.2 mgd. <br /> 4. Bypass or overflow of untreated or partially treated waste is prohibited. <br /> 5. The discharger shall use the best practicable cost effective control. <br /> technique currently available to limit mineralization to no more than a <br /> reasonabla ncrement. <br /> B. Effluent Limitations, Process Wastes <br /> 1. The discharge of wastes other than cooling or condensate water to surface <br /> waters or surface water drainage courses is prohibited. <br /> 2. The discharge shall not cause degradation of any water supply. <br /> 2 — <br />
