Waste Determination Documentation
Determination Date: 2/5/2016 Renewal Date: 71512017
Used Abso bent Pads
Waste Name: with Oil Waste Type: Non -Hazardous
Waste location: Stockton Yod Facility Type
Facility Contact Phone Number
Environmental Manager Approval Select Env Mgr Approved TSDF? Select Yes/No
This determination is for absorbent p ds used to cleanup oil leok(s) at Stockton Yard. It assumes no volatile organic compound or halogen
content in the absorbent pads with oil by generator knowledge and no free flowing liquid oil in the waste.
A representative sample of the absorb nt pads containing oil was collected and analyzed for TPH-d, TPH-mo, Title 22 metals, PCBs and 96 -
hr fish bioassay toxicity.
If discarded, these pads are non-hozor ous waste because analytical data indicate concentrations of metals and PCBs are below hazardous
waste thresholds and used oil purity st ndards. Waste or slop oil is listed in 22 CCR Chapter 11, Appendix X, making it a presumed
hazardous waste unless the presumpti n is rebutted. In this case, the presumption of toxicity is rebutted because a representative sample
oasses the 96 -hr fish bioassay with on C50>750 mg/L.
absorbent pods with oil in closed 55 -gallon steel drums or 5 -gallon buckets, depending on typical quantities used and area(s) where
iulation takes place. Store in a d signated flammable storage area if possible away from sources of heat or ignition. Dispose at
ved facility using analytical resul s to create a non -hazardous waste profile.
REke, % E ht V " E
FEB 1 12016
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
DEPARTMENT
