Union Pacific Railroad <br />Procedures: <br />Hazard Any employee in the yard who observes a leaking <br />M7ateriais railcar or container, which contains or last contained a <br />Emergency hazardous material or pollutant, must immediate notify: <br />Procedures: RMCC at 888/877-7267 General Yardmaster (5227) or <br />Manager on duty (5360). Refer to ActNow! for further <br />procedures. Other than used oil and DAF sludge, no <br />other hazardous wastes are routinely generated. <br />Security <br />T NKG- 079 is a steel tank encapsulated in concrete and <br />Procedures: <br />has locks to control access to contents. In addition, <br />locked fencing surrounds the WWTP, IW -1. Mercury <br />vapor li hting is present throughout oil use areas. <br />Sorbent pads, containment booms, and other oil spill <br />cleanup equipment are stored at the WWTP. <br />Evacuation <br />Evacua ions are required at Level 2 and Level 3 <br />Procedures: <br />Hazardous Materials releases. In the event of a Level 2 <br />incident employees are to evacuate to a 100 foot radius <br />or recommended DOT isolation distance. In the event of <br />a Level 3 incident employees are to evacuate to the <br />required distance shown in the shipping documents,the <br />train consist or the DOTS protective action zone. <br />Evacuated employees are to meet at the Staging Area. <br />Staging Area A is Gate A at the south end of the yard <br />and is accessed by Producers Road. Gate B is located at <br />the intersection of East 8th Street and Sacramento <br />Street. Gate C is located at the north end of the yard at <br />the intersection of 1st Street and Anion Street. When <br />alerted for evacuation (by supervisor or yardmaster), <br />proceed to nearest Place of Refuge identifed by <br />Supervi or(see Facility ). Personnel should evacuate the <br />site in the direction up -wind of the spill. Wind direction <br />can be observed from the windsocks located throughout <br />the yard (see Equipment). <br />Spill History <br />A history of spills from this facility is available in the <br />Desc: <br />UPRR H ZMAT data base. <br />Training <br />The Rai road performs one-time and periodic training <br />Desc: <br />programs for its employees on a variety of subjects. <br />Training records can be accessed through the UPRR <br />computerized employee management systems.
