r
15 April 1999
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0520
Page b of 10
foot intervals from ground surface to the total depth of the borings. Field procedures for the
collection of soil samples in presented in Section 4.1. At least three soil sample from each
monitoring well boring will be submitted for laboratory analysis.
Selected soil samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for the following constituents:
• TPH-g by EPA Method 8015 Modified;
• BTEX by EPA Method 8020 and
• Oxygenating compounds including MTBE,TBA,DIPE,ETBE,and TAME by EPA Method
8260 Modified.
Laboratory reports for ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with the findings and recommendations.
3.4.3. Monitoring Well Installation and Development
Following completion of the monitoring well borings, two-inch diameter monitoring wells will be
installed in four of the borings. The ground water monitoring wells will consist of 20 feet of well
screen section. The well screen section will be installed across the observed water table level with
approximately five-feet of screen section extending above the water level and 15-feet of screen
section extending below the water table level.Based on ground water table level, it is anticipated that
the total depth of the monitoring wells will be approximately 30 feet bsg.
Following well installation, the wells will be developed in order to maximize water flow into the
well and minimize the amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during sampling
activities. Field procedures for monitoring well installation and development are presented in
Sections 4.3. and 4.3., respectively.
Additionally, ground water monitoring well locations will be surveyed following well installation.
3.4.4. Ground Water Sample Collection and Analysis
Following installation and development of the monitoring wells, ground water monitoring and
sampling events will be conducted at the site. Ground water samples will be collected from the
proposed monitoring wells and submitted for laboratory analysis. Ground water samples will be
Advanced GeoEn ironmental,Inc.
