(AGE) has prepared the enclosed Preliminary Site Investigation Work Plan <br /> for the collection of soil and ground water samples beneath the Former underground storage tank <br /> (UST) area at 220 Oak Street, Manteca, California. The location of the site is illustrated in Figure <br /> 1 - Location Map. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 -Site Plan. <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> One 8,000-gallon gasoline underground storage tank (UST) was removed from the site in July 1992. <br /> Two soil samples were collected from the floor of the excavation. Toluene,ethylbenzene and xylenes <br /> were detected in the soil sample collected from the north end of the UST excavation at <br /> concentrations of 36, 10 and 55 Mcg/kg (micrograms per kilogram or parts per billion, ppb). <br /> According to information provided by the Civy of Manteca, ground water depth at the site is between <br /> 15 and 20 feet below surface grade (bsg). <br /> Based upon laboratory results of soil samples collected during the UST removal, the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) is requiring definition <br /> of the vertical and lateral extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and/or ground water at the site. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> AGE proposes to advance one vertical soil probe boring to a depth of approximately 20 feet below <br /> 1803 West March Lane,Suite A, Stockton,California 95207 <br /> Telephone(209)956-0264 FAX(209)956-0700 <br />
