Margaret Lagorio [EH]
To: Jim Barton
Cc: Vicki McCartney[EH]; Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: 1030 S. Olive Street, Stockton
Attachments: Scanned_.pdf; Scanned_.pdf
Em
Scanned_.pdf(343 Scanned_.pdf
KB)
Jim,
Please review the above site information from 4075 Main Street and 1030 Olive Street which
are adjacent to each other. The Main Street site UST system removals occurred in December
1998. The area beneath the UST' s and piping was contaminated. Results of the soil
samples beneath piping samples 3 and 6 are attached, these samples were collected about 50
feet from where MW3 was installed. There was soil contamination in MW3 from 30 feet to 70
feet and there were originally high concentrations of contamination in the groundwater
samples from MW3 .
The UST system removals at the Olive Street site occurred in October 1998. The piping was
above the UST so there are only UST soil samples. There was minor contamination in the
soil samples from the south end of Tank 1. Four soil borings and a monitoring well have
been drilled at the site and there was no soil contamination in any of the soil samples
collected and analyzed. There is groundwater contamination in samples from MWI which is
about 75 feet from MW3 on the 4075 Main Street site. It has mainly been TPH and the
concentrations are similar to those of MW3 except since November 2007 the concentrations
in MW1 have decreased.
The consultant had requested review of the site for closure, with the opionion that the
contamination was from 4075 Main, that the groundwater gradient on the west side of 4075
Main was east to west and compared samples from MWS and MW1. The EHD wrote a letter that
the data didn't support the opinion and requested further work. Since a wont plan wasn't
submitted it came to me for an administrative meeting.
I reviewed the 4075 Main Street data and presented what I found to Vicki and Nuel and said
I supported case closure. There is no contaminant source to support that the groundwater
contaminantion is from the UST system at 1030 Olive and there is contaminant source
information that supports it is from 4075 Main. They agreed with this after I showed them
the information.
Please let me know if you support closure of this site or need additional information.
Margaret
t
I .;
