WORK PLAN FOR <br /> SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION <br /> for <br /> Quik Stop Station No. 076 <br /> 1030 South Olive Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Quik Stop Markets Inc. (Quik Stop), Horizon Environmental Inc. (Horizon) <br /> has developed this work plan for a soil investigation at Quik Stop Station No. 076 located in <br /> Stockton, San Joaquin County, California. The work.plan was requested by the San Joaquin <br /> County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) in a 28 September 2001 letter (Appendix <br /> A). <br /> The purpose of the work is to evaluate the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons reported in soil samples collected during an underground storage tank (UST) <br /> removal project conducted in October 1998 at the site. This work plan was developed in <br /> accordance with the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) document Tri- <br /> Regional Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of <br /> Underground Tank Sites; Appendix A dated 30 August 1991. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The subject site is an operating gasoline station located at 1030 South Olive Avenue in <br /> Stockton, California as shown on Figure 1. The essentially level site is situated at <br /> approximately 28 feet above mean sea level in Section 8, Township I North, Range 7 East, <br /> Mount Diablo Baseline and Meridian. The Quik Stop station facilities, as shown on Figure 2, <br /> include a station building in the eastern portion of the site, two unleaded gasoline USTs <br />
