r
Canepa's Car Wash Page 3
248 E. Park Street 06 Febmary 2008
Stockton, CA
15 January 2008 meeting, the EHD is not currently approving installation of CMT wells
unless it can be demonstrated that the wells can be properly destroyed at the time the
site is prepared for closure, therefore either clustered or nested wells should be
proposed. Before the EHD can approve specific well designs the hydrogeologic model
must be presented to the EHD for review. Submit a work plan addendum that includes
the hydrogeological model and proposed well designs and locations to the EHD by
14 April 2008. The wells to be set in the plume across each depth interval should be
located where groundwater is suspected to be most intensely impacted.
The high contaminant concentrations detected in MW-5 and the widespread nature of
the plume as demonstrated by the data reported in WPA indicate to the EHD that
remediation will be required for your site. Your consultant should start considering
possible interim remediation to control and minimize plume migration off your site. As an
initial step, submit a sorbed and dissolved contaminant mass estimate with the work plan
addendum. Your consultant may want to review the adjacent site, 610 N. Hunter Street,
which has employed soil vapor extraction (SVE) and groundwater extraction (GWE) to
address contaminants from the underground storage tank release at that site.
Please contact Frank Girardi at (209) 463-7868 with comments and any questions.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
Nuel Henderson, PG
Margate Lagon REHS
Engineering Geologist Program Coordinator
C: James Barton, RWQCB, 11020 Sun Center Dr. #200, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670
C: Donald Kresse, Condor, 188 Frank West Circle, Suite I, Stockton, CA 95206
Work Plan Comment Letter 0208
