Park Street
Stockton, California
' February 8,1999
i1 INTRODUCTION
Condor Earth Technologies, Inc (Condor) conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring on January 20, 1999, at
the Canepa's Car Wash facility located at 248 E Park Street in Stockton, California (Figure 1, Appendix A)
iThe groundwater monitoring was conducted at the request of Mr Remo Canepa, facility owner, in response to
directlon from Mr Ronald Rowe of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) The work conducted during the quarterly groundwater monitoring was performed in
i general accordance with approved protocol formerly established for the site The scope-of-work performed
was approved by Mr Ronald Rowe of the PHS/EHD This report includes a site background, a description of
the field and laboratory analyses performed for the January 1999, quarterly monitoring event, discussion of
iresults, and recommendations
2 SITE BACKGROUND
The site is located in the downtown business district of Stockton, California One 12,000-gallon unleaded
gasoline underground storage tank (UST), one 5,000-gallon leaded gasoline UST, and one 5,000-gallon diesel
i fuel UST were removed from the site in 1990 According to WI-IF Environmental Consultants, Inc (WHF), the
soil samples collected from the UST excavation were collected from approximately 16 feet below the ground
surface (bgs) and contained elevated concentrations of gasoline and gasoline constituents Between September,
i 1993, and March, 1994, WHF installed six soil borings and seven monitor wells in and around the site Three
of the monitor wells (MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3) were constructed with a screened interval from 45 to 65 feet
bgs MW-4 through MW-7 were constructed with a screen interval from 40 to 60 feet bgs
iBeginning in April, 1997, Condor implemented a quarterly groundwater monitoring program at the site
Following the July, 1998 quarterly groundwater monitoring event, Mr Rowe of the PHS/EHD ordered the
i installation of additional monitor wells The previously installed monitor wells (MW-1 through MW-7) are
screened below the present groundwater table Water level measurements made at the site on October 21,
1998, indicated that the groundwater table was between 23 5 and 25 3 feet bgs A Work Plan has been prepared
i for the installation of four additional monitor wells (MW-8 through MW-12) and is currently pending approval
by the PHS/EHD
i 3. QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING—JANUARY 1999
On January 20, 1999, a Condor representative made field observations and collected groundwater samples from
the seven monitor wells at the site (see figure 2, Appendix A, for well locations) The sampling order was as
itollo,.Ns MW-4, MW-3, MW-6, MW-5, M..'-2, MW-7, and MW-1
i CONDOR
