INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr Jerry Castro of Pacific Car Wash, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br />' (PIER) for 4405 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California (the site) The scope of work was to <br /> determine the Iateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water The location <br /> of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 -Location Map A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2 - Site <br />' Plan <br /> The investigation was performed in accordance with the guidelines of both the San Joaquin County <br />' Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> 20. BACKGROUND <br /> C GROUND <br /> 2 1 SITE DESCRIPTION AND USAGE <br /> The site is located at 4405 Pacific Avenue, at the northwest corner of the intersection of Bianchi <br /> Road and Pacific Avenue, in a topographically flat area of the city of Stockton in San Joaquin <br /> County, California The site is within the northeast quarter of Section 5, Township 2 North, Range <br /> 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian <br /> A carwash/gasoline facility has existed at this site since 1968 Two 12,000-gallon gasoline USTs, and <br /> one 6,000;gallon gasoline UST are currently in place at the site <br /> I22 INITIAL INVESTIGATION <br /> In October and November 1991, nine shallow soil borings were advanced at the site to determine the <br /> extent of petroleum hydrocarbon compounds beneath the fuel distribution network area Soil samples <br /> were collected from depths of approximately 5 to 15 feet below surface grade (bsg) near the <br /> dispenser and UST areas Hydrocarbon-impacted soil was detected beneath both the UST and <br /> dispenser areas Analytical results of soil samples collected during the initial investigation are <br /> summarized in Table 1 - Analytical Rest-ills of Soil Samples, October and November 1991 <br /> Approximate locations of soil borings are depicted in Figure 2 <br /> i <br />
