t16 September 2003
• AGE-NC Project No 96-0229
' 2 1 1 Ground Water Sampling
Following well purging, the ground water level from each well was allowed to achieve a minimum
' of 80 percent recharge prior to sample collection Ground water samples were collected from the
purged wells utilizing new, disposable polyethylene bailers, and transferred to 40-m1 EPA-approved
volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 m1 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample
' preservative Care was taken to ensure that visible air bubbles were not present In the vials after
filling and capping Ground water sample containers were labeled with the well designation, date,
time, and sampler's initials
2 12 Laboratory Analysis Of Ground Water Samples
Each ground water sample was logged on a chain-of-custodY form, placed in a chilled container and
transported to a California DHS-certified laboratory for analysis for
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as
gasoline (TPH-g) by EPA Method
lie
SW503013/8015M, and
• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), ethylene dibromide (EDB), 1,2-
dlchloroethane (1,2-DCA), tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl tert
' butyl ether(ETBE), tert amyl methyl ether (TAME) and methyl tert buyl ether(MTBE) by
EPA Method 8260B
3.0. FINDINGS
' Ground water monitoring field data was utilized to determine ground water flow direction and
gradient on 12 June 2003,hydrocarbon impact to ground water was quantified by laboratory analysis
' of samples collected on 13 June 2003
3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
During the June 2003 monitoring event, depths to ground water in wells MW-1 through MW-12
were measured at between 29 99 feet and 32 09 feet below the tops of the well casings (Table 2)
Ground water elevations were calculated to be between 19 42 feet(MW-5)and 21 10 feet(MW-12)
below mean sea level(MSL),the ground water elevation generally decreased an average of 0 20 feet
between the February 2003 and the June 2003 ground water monitoring events The ground water
surface elevation at the site was within the screened intervals of wells MW-2 through MW-10A,
Advanced CcoEnvpronmental,Inc
f
