c(opy <br /> 3164 Gold Camp Drive <br /> Susie zoo <br /> Deft <br /> Rancho Cordova California 95670-6021 <br /> En��ronm�ntal 916/638-20085 ' <br /> Consultants,Inc FAX 916/638-8385 <br /> April 30, 2002 <br /> Mr Dennis Catanyag C=' = <br /> `:- <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services : <br /> Environmental Health Division z <br /> 304 East Weber Street, Third Floor ti <br /> cn <br /> Stockton, California 95202 _ <br /> Subject Soil Sampling Report <br /> ARCO Facihty No 6100 - <br /> 25775 Patterson Pass Road <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Delta Project No D000-340 <br /> Dear Mr Catanyag <br /> Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta) was contracted by Atlantic Richfield Company <br /> (ARCO) to perform soil sampling beneath former dispenser locations and associated product <br /> piping during renovation activities at ARCO Facility No 6100, located at 25775 Patterson Pass <br /> Road, Tracy, California (Figure 1) The purpose of the soil sampling was to fulfill requirements <br /> of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) <br /> This report presents the analytical results from the soil sampling activities <br /> Sall Sampling <br /> On January 18, 2002, a Delta representative, working under the direction of a California <br /> Registered Geologist, visited the site to collect soil samples from beneath the former dispenser <br /> and product piping locations Delta collected soil samples in the presence of Environmental <br /> Health Specialist, Dennis Catanyag Sampling locations and facility configuration are shown <br /> on Figure 2 Eight samples were collected from beneath product dispensers, and three samples <br /> were collected from beneath product piping Samples were collected at depths ranging from <br /> approximately 3 5 to 6 feet below ground surface (bgs) Each sample location was exposed <br /> using a backhoe Samples were collected by hand driving a brass sampling tube into the soil at <br /> the bottom of the excavated area The ends of each brass tube were then covered with Teflon7h1 <br /> sheets and plastic caps, and samples were placed in an ice-chilled cooler Each sample was <br /> labeled with the ARCO station number, sample name, collection date, and collection time, and <br /> identified on a chain-of-custody form Two stockpiles of pea gravel (SP-1 and SP-2) generated <br /> during construction were also sampled on January 18, 2002 <br /> Delta returned to the site on January 22, 2002, to sample two stockpiles of soil generated during <br /> construction activities This soil was from the trenching for the installation of remediation <br /> Prodding a Competitive Edge <br />
