• WORK PERFORMED THIS QUARTER(Fourth 2005)
1 Stratus monitored all vapor extraction and monitoring wells for the presence of water and free
product on December 19, 2005 Groundwater samples were collected from wells MW-2, MW-4,
MW-8, MW-10, MW-12, MW-13, VW-3, VW-5, VW-6, and the domestic well Well MW-15 had free
product and was not sampled Wells MW-1, VW-1, and VW-4 had a product sheen and were not
sampled
2 Stratus conducted six site visits to conduct routine operation and maintenance, and to collect the
required discharge compliance air samples from the SVE system Free product, if measured, was
also manually bailed during these site visits
3 Stratus bailed approximately 2 gallons of product/water mixture from MW-1, approximately 2 gallons
from well MW-4, approximately 8 gallons from well MW-15, approximately 2 gallons from well
VW-1, and approximately 2 gallons from well VW-4
4 Stratus compiled and evaluated the monitoring and sampling data
5 Between December 12 and December 16, 2005, Stratus installed off-site groundwater monitoring
wells MW-16 through MW-20 These wells will be included in the regularly scheduled monitoring
and sampling events beginning first quarter 2006
WORK PROPOSED FOR NEXT QUARTER(First 2006)
1 Monitoring for the presence of free product in wells MW-1, MW-4, MW-15, VW-1, and VW-4 will be
conducted periodically, and if present, bail floating product
S2 Water levels will be measured and samples will be collected from wells MW-2, MW-4, MW-8,
MW-10, MW-12, MW-13, MW-15 through MW-20, VW-1, and VW-4 A sample will be collected
from the water supply well
3 The next sampling event is tentatively scheduled for March 2006 Groundwater samples will be
analyzed for gasoline range organics (GRO), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes (BTEX),
tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), ethyl
tertiary butyl ether (ETRE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA),
1,2-dibromoethane (EDB), and ethanol using USEPA Method 82606
4 Bi-monthly site visits will be conducted to monitor system performance, maintain equipment, and to
collect compliance samples from the SVE system
5 A document of the well installation activities will be submitted to SJCEHD
