The system
was started on March 13, 2002 with Tom Busenbark of the SJVAPCD on site to observe the
initial field measurements of influent and effluent air flow and concentration. Influent, effluent
and mid-tank vapor samples were collected with Tedlar bags for laboratory analysis of BTEX and
MTBE by EPA method 8021B .
The SVE system will be monitored on a weekly basis for influent and effluent flow, and influent,
mid-tank, and effluent vapor concentration using a photoionization detector. Vapor samples for
laboratory analysis of BTEX and MTBE will be collected on a quarterly basis. SVE monitoring
data will be included in future quarterly groundwater monitoring reports.
