Oct 11 2001 10 ; 26AM CONDO, EARTH TECHNOLOGIES
No - 6747 P . 3 / 14
CanOpa's Car Wash
Mr, Jeff Wong - Deep Well screms
October 10, 2001
horizon may be questionable. it is possible that the middle horizon sample contamination was the result
of cross-contamination from more shallow horizons or laboratory error. If contamination was present in
the middle horizon it is reasonable that the shallower horizon would have had contamination too, possibly
at a higher concentration- Based on these results, Condor is proposing the construction of only one deep
well in the center of the plume (in the vicinity of HPI through HP3) that would be developed and sampled
quarterly for confirmation of the HP2 results. The proposed deep well will be screened in the middle
horizon (from 100 to 110 feet bgs)_ If the monitoring of the proposed deep well indicates that the horizon
investigated is not contaminated, the vertical portion of the site investigation should be complete. If the
monitoring of the proposed deep well indicates the presence of contamination, additional deep monitor
wells may be necessary in a subsequent phase of groundwater investigation.
in addition to the map showing the approximate CPT boring locations, attached are the CPT logs and the
laboratory analytical results. Because deep well installation is scheduled to begin on Monday, October
15, we will follow this letter with a phone call (or meeting if you prefer) to discuss the proposed deep
well-
Respectfully submitted,
CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
Don ICresse, R.G.
Project Manager
Attachments: Figure with CPT Boring Locations
Laboratory Analytical Results
CPT Boring Logs
cc: Mr. Remo Canepa, Canepas Car Wash
\\Pde\projects\1707 Canepa-Pacific\Conespondencc\30-10-01 1-Wong.doc
as
40
