Quarterly Monitoring Report,October 1999
Canepa's Car Wash(Pacific Avenue)
L, November 22, 1999
Page -3
groundwater directly from the pump discharge tubing. The sample containers were labeled, placed in a
cooler chilled with ice, and delivered, in accordance with chain-of-custody procedures,to GeoAnalytical
Laboratories, Inc. in Modesto, California, within approximately 24 hours of sample collection.
Lo
4.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING RESULTS
a. 4.1 GROUNDWATER ELEVATION CONTOURS
On October 13, 1999, the depth to groundwater was measured in each monitor well prior to the collection
of groundwater samples. The average depth to groundwater was approximately 34.4 feet below the well
measuring points (slightly below the ground surface). The average depth to groundwater increased
approximately 0.7 feet since the previous monitoring event conducted in July 1999. The groundwater
elevation ranged from 20.98 to 21.98 feet below mean sea level (bmsl). The groundwater elevation
contour map (Figure 3, Appendix A) indicates groundwater mounding in the center of the site in the
vicinity of MW-I and MW-2. See Table I (below) for groundwater elevation data. A hydrograph of
groundwater elevations is included as Figure 4, Appendix A.
TABLE 1
GROUNDWATER ELEVATION DATA(OCTOBER 13, 1999)
MW-1 THROUGH MW-8
Well Well Casing Well Collar Depth to Groundwater
ID Screen Elevation Water Elevation
Interval (feet) (feet) (feet)
(feet- bgs)
MW-1 50-70 13.45 34.45 -21.00
MW-2 50-70 13.27 34.25 -20.98
MW-3 50-70 13.50 34.74 -21.24
s.
MW-4 50-70 13.82 34.81 -20.99
w.
MW-5 50-70 12.69 33.76 -21.07
MW-6 45 -65 11.62 33.60 -21.98
MW-7 45 -65 13.18 34.73 -21.55
MW-8 45-65 13.26 34.6I -21.35
dmp 4.2 LABORATORY ANALYSES
The groundwater samples were analyzed by GeoAnalytical Laboratories, Inc. for total petroleum
`~ hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-G) by Method 5030/LUFT; for benzene, toluene, ethyl
• benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX)and methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) by EPA Method 602.
4M N41
%J CONDOR
4w
