Hunter Street
Stockton, California
Primary Agency: Jeff Wong, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD)
Copy to: James Barton, California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley
Region (CRWQCB)
This is a report of the results of the fourth quarter 2003 groundwater monitoring event conducted
November 9, 2003, at the above-referenced site. Figures indicating the site location, groundwater
elevation contours, groundwater elevation fluctuations (hydrograph), benzene iso-concentration contours,
MTBE iso-concentration contours, and historical MTBE concentrations in MW-3 (Attachment A, Figures
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, respectively) are attached to this report. Site background information, historical
groundwater monitoring data, field forms, and laboratory analytical results are provided in Attachment B,
C, D, and E, respectively. This report has been submitted to the SJCEHD and the CRWQCB as indicated
above.
In a letter to Mr. Jeff Wong of the SJCEHD dated October 2, 2002, Condor proposed annual monitoring
of site monitor wells MW-5, MW-6, and MW-7 (reduced from quarterly) and destruction of MW-8 and
MW-10. In a letter dated February 4, 2003, Mr. Wong indicated that annual sampling of MW-5, MW-6,
and MW-7 and destruction of MW-8 were approved but that annual monitoring of MW-10 was necessary.
Mr. Wong also indicated that MW-8 would need to be replaced and an additional down-gradient monitor
well installed. Condor subsequently prepared a work plan for the destruction of MW-8 dated February 5,
2003, destroyed MW-8 under SJCEHD permit and supervision on April 11, 2003, and prepared a report
of the well destruction dated April 21, 2003. Installation of a monitor well in the vicinity of former
monitor well MW-8 and a down-gradient monitor well will be conducted following development of the
property that the former MW-8 was located on. v
In accordance with SJCEHD requirements as described above, Condor did not sample MW-5, MW-6,
MW-7, MW-8 (destroyed), and MW-10 as part of the fourth quarter 2003 groundwater monitoring event
conducted on November 9, 2003. Monitor wells MW-5, MW-6, MW-7, and MW-10 were sampled,
however, as part of the annual monitoring event conducted on July 25, August 1, and August 4, 2003
(previous event). A summary of the results of the fourth quarter 2003 groundwater monitoring is provided
• in Table I on the following page.
ILA) CONDOR
