1
. ADDITIONAL SOIL AND GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION
CANEPA'S CAR WASH
6230 PACIFIC AVENUE
' STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
January 21,2002
' 1.0 INTRODUCTION
Condor-Earth Technologies, Inc. (Condor) conducted site investigation activities from September 26,
2001 through October 18, 2001 at the Canepa's Car Wash, located at 6230 Pacific Avenue (site) in
Stockton, California (Figures 1, 2 and 3, Appendix A). Condor prepared this report at the request of Mr.
Remo Canepa. The soil and groundwater investigation activities were conducted in general accordance
with the Work Plan - Soil Boring and Monitor Well Installation, dated November 17, 1998, prepared by
Condor, and subsequent approved revisions.
The primary objective of the work described in this report was to further evaluate the lateral and vertical
extent of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination in soil and groundwater at the site. The installation of
three cone penetrometer(CPT) borings, four soil borings, and nine direct push (hydropunch) borings and
the installation, development, surveying, and sampling of four monitor wells were conducted to meet this
 . objective.
This report includes project background information, a description of the fieldwork and laboratory
analyses, the results of the soil and groundwater investigation, and a summary/discussion of the results of
the investigation. The work described by this report was conducted under the direct supervision of a
Condor California Registered Geologist.
2.0 SITE BACKGROUND
In the Report — Soil and Groundwater Investigation, dated rune 12, 1998, Condor recommended
additional soil and groundwater investigation to further characterize the extent of contamination at the
site. In a faxed document dated July 28, 1998, Mr. Ron Rowe of the PHS/EHD requested a work plan
describing the recommended additional investigation activities. In response to Mr. Rowe's request,
I Condor submitted the Soil Boring and Monitor Well Installation Work Plan dated November 17, 1998,
describing proposed additional investigative activities. Upon review of the work plan, Mr. Rowe verbally
requested that the work plan be modified to include deep aquifer characterization with a cone
penetrometer. Condor prepared a letter dated May 18, 1999 providing a work plan addendum describing
the proposed additional deep aquifer soil and groundwater investigation. In a letter to Mr. Remo Canepa
dated May 4, 2001, Mr. Jeffrey Wong of the PHS/EHD approved the work plan dated November 17,
1998 and the work plan addendum provided by the Condor letter dated May 18, 1999. Comprehensive
site background information is included in Appendix B.
3.0 FIELD AND ANALYTICAL METHODOLOGY
This section includes a description of the site preparation; drilling procedures; monitor well installation,
surveying, development, and sampling procedures; and the laboratory analytical methodology.
CONDOR
