•� + Canepa's Car Wash <br /> 6230 Pacific Avenue,Stockton,CA <br /> Second Quarter Groundwater Monitoring Report,April 2005 <br /> Page 6 of 10 <br /> Initial inspection of the SVE system was conducted on September 30, 2004, and a follow-up inspection <br /> was conducted on October 7, 2004 In a letter report, Soil Vapor Extraction System, submitted to Karen <br /> DeGroot of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District(SJVAPCD), dated November 30, 2004, <br /> Condor provided data required in the SJVAPCD Authority to Construct document to obtain a SJCAPCD <br /> Permit to Operate <br /> The City of Stockton Municipal Utilities District (MUD) authorized the initiation of discharge of treated <br /> groundwater on October 28, 2004 Groundwater extraction and treatment, with subsequent discharge to <br /> the sanitary sewer began November 1, 2004 Monthly sampling and reporting of the final discharge of <br /> treated groundwater is required in the MUD groundwater discharge permit Those reports document the <br /> analytical results of the treated groundwater being discharged into the City of Stockton sanitary sewer <br /> system The laboratory analytical data for final discharge samples collected during October, November, <br /> and December 2004, and January 2005 indicated that none of the contaminants of concern were detected <br /> at or above the laboratory reported detection limits The laboratory analytical data for the final discharge <br /> sample collected on February 16, 2005 indicated that none of the contaminants of concern were detected <br /> at or above the laboratory reported detection limits except for MTBE, which was detected at a <br /> concentration of 120 pg/L This concentration of MTBE exceeded the discharge limit set forth in the <br /> MUD groundwater discharge permit, and the system was shut down Corrective action was undertaken <br /> The equipment was restarted as of April 6, 2005, and remained in normal operation during the months of <br /> May and June <br /> MASS REMOVAL AND DESTRUCTION CALCULATIONS <br /> The system was operating 744 hours between March 1, 2005 and June 1 2005, or 33% of the time This <br /> operational time was strongly effected by the by the 36-day shutdown referred to in the previous section, <br /> and is reflected in the subsequent mass removal and destruction calculations <br /> Aqueous Phase Mass Removal <br /> The groundwater treatment system has removed petroleum hydrocarbons from 205,410 gallons of <br /> groundwater during the second quarter of 2005 Groundwater treatment system samples and associated <br /> data were collected to monitor the operational efficiency of the system and the consumption of carbon <br /> (Attachment D) <br /> The primary groundwater extraction well is MW-1 MW-1 has contributed approximately 95% of the <br /> total groundwater influent into the treatment system The concentrations of BTEX, TPH-G, and MTBE <br /> detected in samples collected from MW-1 have been increasing as anticipated and discussed above A <br /> sample of the influent ground water primarily from MW-1 was collected during the second quarter 2005 <br /> groundwater monitoring event, but analysis for TPH-G was not conducted The TPH-G concentration of <br /> 30 mg/L detected in the sample collected from MW-1 on January 21, 2005 was consequently used to <br /> calculate total TPH-G removed from groundwater A total of 504,626 gallons have been treated by the <br /> system as of June 1, 2005 The calculation indicates that approximately 51 pounds of gasoline have been <br /> removed from the groundwater at the site during the second quarter of 2005 Furthermore, an approximate <br /> total of 126 pounds of gasoline have been removed since the system was made operational A calculation <br /> worksheet is included in Attachment D <br /> Vapor Phase Quantification Methodology <br /> Soil vapor mass removal and destructive Pfficiency calculations are made with the following <br /> _methodology Field_PID_ measurements are_collected weekly and laboratory samples are analyzed- ---- <br /> monthly The data is compiled and a correction factor is calculated between corresponding PID <br /> measurements and laboratory analytical results The correction factor is then applied to the PID <br /> �� CONDOR <br />
