' REPORT <br /> QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> i} SECOND QUARTER-APRIL, 1998 <br />' Canepa's Car Wash <br /> 6230 Pacific Avenue <br />' Stockton, California <br />' May 26, 1998 <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Quarterly groundwater monitoring was conducted by Condor Earth Technologies, Inc (Condor) on April <br /> 22 and 23, 1998, at the Canepa's Car Wash facility located at 6230 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, <br /> California (Figure 1, Appendix A) This report was prepared by Condor at the request of the property <br /> owner, Mr Remo Canepa <br /> The work to be conducted during quarterly groundwater monitoring was described by Condor in <br /> Proposal for Site Evaluation and Groundwater Monitoring (April 8, 1996) The scope-of-work <br /> presented in the proposal was approved by Mr Ronald Rowe of the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) The PHS/EHD subsequently modified the <br /> approved scope-of-work to include gasoline oxygenates/additives analysis of the site groundwater <br /> samples <br /> Phis report includes a site background and a description of the fieldwork and Laboratory analyses <br /> conducted during the April 1998, quarterly groundwater monitoring <br /> 2 0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> Canepa's Car Wash consists of an automated car washing facility, a fuel station, and a convenience store <br /> (Figure 2, Appendix A) The car wash and fuel station have been in operation for approximately 20 <br /> years <br /> IIn the Spring of 1993, three underground fuel tanks, fuel lines and dispensers were removed and replaced <br /> with a double walled system The tanks consisted of two 12 000-gallon gasoline tanks and one 5,000- <br /> gallon diesel tank Upon removal of the tanks and piping, it was discovered that the fuel lines had leaked <br /> and that the tanks had been overfilled Approximately 600 cubic yards of soil were removed from the <br /> fuel tank excavation area <br /> Beginning in March 1993 one -oil horing incl a network of nine Coli vanor extraction NVFl xxialic �xiarss <br /> drilled and installed in the area of the fuel dispenser islands Between September, 1993, and March, <br /> 1994 eight monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-8) were installed In March, 1994, a soil vapor <br /> extraction system was installed and operated In the Fall of 1996, it was determined that tht SVE system: <br /> was inadequate and turned off <br /> Condor has been conducting Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring at the site since August 1996 Analysis of <br /> . groundwater samples collected from selected SVE wells (SVE-1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9) indicate that high <br /> concentrations of TPH-G, B LEX, and MTBE are present in the toriner location of the fuel dispenser islands <br /> k <br /> �e� CONDOR <br />
