1 <br /> REPORT <br /> QUARTERLYGROUNDWATER MONITORING <br /> FOURTH QtJAR"TER - OCTOBER 1997 <br />' Cancp a'% Car Wash <br />' 6230 Pacific Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br />' December 10, 1997 <br />' 1 0 INTRODUCTION <br /> QuarterlN groundwater monitoring was conducted by Condor Earth Technologies Inc , (Condor) on <br />' October 21 and 22 1997 at the Canepa s Car Wash facility located at 6230 Pacific AVLTItie in <br /> Stockton California (Figure 1 Appendi\ A) This report was prepared by Condor at the request of <br /> the property owner Mr Remo Canepa <br />' The work conducted during the quarterly ground\%iter monitoring ��,as outlined by Condor in I'iopvtul <br /> for ,Site Ei olmano r uiid Groundivatel Mourmr ing (APS it cS 1996) The scope-of-work presented in the <br /> proposal \xas approved by Mr Ronald Rowe of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS/EI-ID) In addition to the previously approved scope-of-work, <br /> the PHS/El ID required additional groundwater analysis to include gasoline o\ygenates/additives, <br /> intrinsic bioremediation parameters, and dissolved iron <br />�1 <br /> This report includes a discussion of the sitz background and description of the fieldwork and <br />' laborator\ anakscs conducted during the October 1997 quarterl\ monitoring <br /> 2 0 SITE BACKGROUND <br /> Canepa s Car Wash consists of an automated car washing facility a fuel station, and a1 convenience <br /> store (Fit,,tire 2 Appendi\ A) The. car \%ash and fuel station havt been in operation for appiominatt-l\ <br /> 20 years <br /> In the Spring. of 1993 three underground fuel tanks fuel Imes and dispensers were removed and <br /> replaced with a doubled walled system The tanks consisted of two 12 000-gallon gasoline tanks and <br /> one 5 000-gallon diesel tank Upon removal of the tanks and piping it %\as discovered that the fuel <br /> lines had 1(,,iked and that the tanks had been overfilled Approximately 600 cubic yards of Soil were <br /> removed from the fuel tank excavation area <br />�r <br /> Beginning in March 1993, one Soil boring and a network of nine soil vapor extraction (SVE) wells <br /> were drilled and installed in the area of the fuel dispenser islands Between September, 1993 and <br /> March 1994 Light monitorino wells (MW-1 through M"1-8) \%ere, installed In March 1994, a soil <br /> vapor extraction system was installed and operated In the Fall of 1996 it was determined that the <br /> SVC sy5tcm was inadequate and turned off A cletailcd Site.
