REPORT
QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING
SECOND QUARTER - APRIL 1997
Canepa's Car Wash
6230 Pacific Avenue
Stockton, California
April 17, 1997
10 INTRODUCTION
Condor Earth Technologies, Inc , (Condor) conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring at the
Canepa's Car Wash facility located at 6230 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California (Figure 1,
Appendix A) on April I and 2, 1997 The groundwater monitoring was conducted at the request of
Mr Remo Canepa, facility owner, in response to a recent communication from Mr Ronald Rowe of
the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) directing
continuation of the quarterly groundwater monitoring The groundwater samples were analyzed at a
certified laboratory for total petroleum hydrocarbons, quantified as gasoline (TPH-G), for benzene,
toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylene (BTEX), and for methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) as requested
by the PHS/EHD
This report includes a description of the field procedures and Iaboratory analyses conducted
during the April, 1997, quarterly monitoring A discussion of the current and historical groundwater
data is presented in Section 5 0 (Discussion of Results)
2 0 SUMMARY OF RESULTS
The following summary describes the data collected during the most recent quarterly
monitoring
• Groundwater Analyses Gasoline was detected in the groundwater samples from MW-
1 at 6 4 mg/L, MW-2 at 12 mg/L, MW-4 at 0 12 mg/L and SV-9 at 53 mg/L BTEX
constituents were detected in groundwater samples from MW-1, MW-2, MW-4 and
I SV-9 ranging from 2 9 µg/L to 25,000 µg/L MTBE was detected in groundwater
samples from MW-1 at 120 µg/L, MW-2 at 46 µg/L, MW-3 at 13 µg/L, and SV-9 at
79,000 µg/L TPH-G and BTEX constituents were not detected at or above the
reported laboratory detection limit in the groundwater samples collected from MW-3,
x if11i r w if111 r • 111T - A ♦11T n u Amir .1..i....a....l a 1- I-- 1-1--
iVl W`D, IV]W-D, lVi W-/, w 1Vl VV-0 IV]i IBJ✓ Wd5 11UL UULULAUU d4 Vr dUV1 a Lhe- 1dUVi QLUIy
reported detection limit in groundwater samples collected from MW-4 MW-5, MW-6,
MW-7, or MW-8 The laboratory results are presented in Section 4 2 Table 1, and
Figure 2, Appendix A
• Groundwater Elevation The depth to groundwater was approximately 40 feet below
the ground surface at the site The groundwater elevation ranged from 27 48 to 26 45
feet below sea level (bmsl) The groundwater elevation was approximately 2 2 feet
hiuher than the average elevation measured in January, 1997 Groundwater elevation
contours are shown in Figure 3, Appendix A
I CONDOR
