y .. Canepa's Car Wash
6230 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California
Work Plan To Install Monitoring Wells
1.0 Project Identification
The Canepa Car Wash has been required to install four (4) ground water monitoring
wells as a result of an on site fuel line leak. The request was made by the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department, and is a part of an on-going site
investigation.
2.0 Site Description and History
The Canepa Car Wash has been operating at this location for nearly 20 years. In March
' of 1993 three (3) under round fuel tanks fuel lines and dispensers{ g were removed in
.. order to replace them with the required double wall system. It was discovered that that
the fuel lines have leaked and the tanks have apparently been over filled.
WHF has installed a soil vapor extraction system and a soil boring to the saturated zone
of the first aquifer. Ground water is believed to be impacted.
3.0 Proposed Monitoring Wells
WI-IF is proposing to install three (3) two inch (2") monitoring wells using an 8 7f8
inch OD hollow stem auger, and one (1) four inch (4") well using a 10 718" OD auger,
ad;acent to the the fuel canopy, beneath which is the area where the leak ocurred. The
4" well will be installed adjacent to the fuel canopy to provide both monitoring
information as well as potential use as an extraction well.. The other wells will be
_ installed in such a way as to provide ground water gradient. information on site, and
hopefully to define the extent of the contamination plume in the soil and ground water.
L ; A site map showing the proposed wells and the ground water gradient is included in
this Work Plan.
. The proposed welllocations aze as under ground utilities have not been
-- located to our satisfaction. The proposed wells will be installed to a depth of seventy
five feet (75') below ground surface. The wells will be screened from the bottom of
` the well. to five (5') feet above the aquifer.
