44 I Canepa's Car Wash
E - Report Groundwater Mounding Study
r r February 13,2002
_ - - - Page--2-
Le-
Mounding.Study
_ t=
-1i October 2 00 1, Condor installed four monitor wells (MW 9, MW=10, MW-11, and MW-12d),as part of
- - an additional soil and groundwater investigation (Figure l,:-attached).-Three of the monitor wells (MW-9,
MW-10 and MW-11) were constructed with screened intervals from 25 to 45 feet to intercept'the
water table: The addition of monitor well MW-10 providesr-important east-west groundwater.gradient
_ - information along the northern boundaryof the site..
- As the•initial task in the.ground;water monitoring study, Condor surveyed the existing monit' ing.wells -
(installed by a previous -consultant) -and the new wells -simultaneously. The new'..!survey '.'data were
generally 2.01 to 2.05 feet higher than had been previouslyreported,4apparentlydue to the use of a -
b different vertical datum{Table 1, attached).-It-also appears that fine previous survey data for monitor wells
MW-6 and MW-7 were incorrectly reported as-1.25 and 0.60 feet low, respectively. The incorrect survey
data artificially lowered the groundwater elevation-at the southwestern portion-of the site, resulting in the I
. _._apparent groundwater mound near well MW-2. The groundwater elevation contours shown on Figure I
ii- (attached)indicate a relatively uniform gradient to the east across the site
Based on the results of the new-well elevation survey, the previously reported ground'
water mound in the',.
_ vicinity of well MW-2 is no longer evident. Consequently, no additional mounding study tasks:are
proposed, and the mounding study is completer-
_ L .
V.
-= - -1fyou have any questions or,require additional information, please phone us at(209)2340518 :@
Respectfully subm.itted,.
CONDO ARTH TECHNOLOGIES,INC.
- - _ 7 C C 0442E5
s
- - -
nio eject Managed'_ Jf r
Attachments
AE-
P11707 Ca epa-P.acific\Cov pondenceVen'ery Weng52-17-021-Wongdoc
-' - -
L .
• .-- _ — _
1-- - - _ fit.- -""- _' p'' u-• T
Rt
5
t 1.. -
>"
is
CONDOR
F _ r s_ L. - IL
