Box 100 <br /> Sacramento, CA 95812 <br /> Re: Order No.14099-10-01 ` <br /> Dear Mr. Baggett:., <br /> This letter is submitted on behalf of Unocal Corporation concerning State <br /> Water Resources Control Board ("SWRCB") Order No. WQ99-10-UST. <br /> Order No. WQ 99-10-UST contemplated consideration of Unocal's <br /> closure request for.'the former service station site at 1665 Pacific Avenue, <br /> Stockton, California (the "Site's at the SWRCB's November 2000 workshop and <br /> meeting. By this letter Unocal requests that the SWRCB delay consideration of <br /> closure of the Site for six months. Granting of this request.would result in the <br /> SWRCB rescheduling the consideration for closure from November 2000 to the <br /> May 2000 workshop and meeting. <br /> This rescheduling is requested to facilitate a potential settlement <br /> agreement with the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office ("San Joaquin <br /> County"). San Joaquin County filed a complaint in San Joaquin County Superior <br /> Court (Case No. CV009241) on November 2. 1999, involving, among other <br /> locations, the Site that is the subject of Order No. WQ99-10-UST. The potential <br /> settlement may require Unocal to agree to conduct additional work at the Site. <br /> _ I <br />
