PACIFIC <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL <br /> GROUP INC <br /> August 6, 1993 <br /> Project 310-40 01 <br /> Mr Bob Boust <br /> Unocal Corporation <br /> 2000 Crow Canyon Place <br /> San Ramon, California 94583 <br /> Re- Former Unocal Service Station 2859 <br /> 1665 Pacific Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr Boust: <br /> This letter presents a work plan prepared by Pacific Environmental Group, Inc <br /> (PACIFIC) for the site referenced above (figures 1 and 2) This letter was <br /> i -prepared in response to a letter from the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) dated May 17, 1993 <br /> Following receipt of that letter, a meeting was held between Unocal Corporation <br /> (Unocal), PACIFIC, and Diane Hinson of the PHS/EHD on June 8, 1993 The <br /> course of action presented within this letter was discussed during that meeting <br /> This letter presents site background, a discussion of soil and groundwater condi- <br /> tions, the proposed scope of work, and a schedule for implementation <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located in Stockton, California Land use in the vicinity of the site <br /> includes retail stores, an elementary school, and private residences. The closest <br /> water-supply well was documented by Applied Geosystems (Applied) to be <br /> 800 feet to the northeast of the site (December 1990) <br /> i <br /> The site lies at an approximate elevation of 10 feet above mean sea level The <br /> topography in the vicinity is essential flat with a gentle slope to the west toward the <br /> San Joaquin River, which is located 3 miles to the west of the site <br /> The site is currently a vacant lot.
