AGE STOCKTON
2e946'7 $
AdvancedInc'.
Geoff
vixonmexta
25 Jute 2002 1
pAGE Project No. 95-0173 I
VIA FACSUAME: (209) 468-3433 I
Mr. Jeff Wong
San Joaquin County Envirownental Health Department
304 East Weber Avenue,Third Floor
Stocicton,.CA.95202
SUBJECT: Sediment Accumulation in well MW-13
California Fuels Cardloek Station,2402 Paci#le Avenue,Stockton CA
Deax Mr.Wong:
On 20 June 2002, ground water monitoring and sampling was performed at the above referenced site by
Advanced GeoEmviromnental,Ind.(AGE)-During monitoring,it was discovered that sediment had filled the
bottom of well MW-13(screened 95 feet to 100 feet)to a depth of approXimately 75 feet below surface grade
(bsg)-During previous ground water monitoring events,'well MW-13 purged"dry"after approximately 10
gallons of ground water pumping. However, during the June 2002 inonitoring event, ground water recharge
was significantly greater than previously observed.
AGE suspects that the integrity of well MW-13 has been Compromised by either casing:separation or the
bottom well plug detaching from the well casing, thus allowing sediment to accumulate in the well. The
incident cannot be further assessed until the sediment accumulation is removed. 'Therefore, AGE believes
that a well-development rig is necessary to effectively remove the sediment accumulation between 75 and
100 feet bsg. Following well development,.AGE will evaluate the integrity of the well.
We have tentatively scheduled well development activities with Cascade'Drilliug Inc.to commence oil Z6
June 2002.If YOU have any questions or require further information, please contact our Office'at(209 467
1006. )
Sipcerely,
Advanced Geo]E+nvironmQptal, Inc,
416
Timothy Clar
Project Geologist
Enclosures
cc: NIX.
